We all have things in our closets that probably portray exactly what is pictured below. So go digging into your closets, because mixing in with new is the NEW thing, & mixing expensive with chic cheap is amazing!
If you’re like me & are the only girl out of four siblings you get most of your hand-me-down clothing from your mother as she ages (sorry, mom!) I absolutely adore the treasures my mom has passed me down. From floral dresses just like the one pictured, to Kenneth Jay Lane costume jewelry from the late 80′s- early 90′s to chic Texier leather goods, & by goods I mean LEATHER BAGS!
So growing up, I was given all of these lovely treasures before I was even into fashion. I was still a kid trying to fit in, and the best way I did was playing soccer all my life. So anyway, I’d always keep things in my closet, more like bury them hoping no one would ever see them. (I always hated my girlfriends asking me to borrow things) I always thought to myself, “eh, I can wear this to SOMETHING when I get older.” So now, 22, & addicted to everything fashion- I have so many of these little treasures collected over the years. And OF COURSE who’d be the one to ask to “borrow” from me? My one & only MOTHER! I laugh all the time when my mom sees me walking in or out of the house wearing something she’s given me years & years ago, or even something my dad wanted to give her but refused. It never ever fails.
So girls any time your mom, or older sisters & cousins pass you down something you aren’t too sure is your style just yet, keep it! You can always have these items as your first collectors, or even something to pass down to your younger siblings or even children.

Floral Dress available at ApparelCandy.com, A-Line Denim Blue Vest, Jeffrey Campbell Cut Out Oxford Wedge, Dainty Neckalaces, Pyramid Earrings available at ApparelCandy.com, & Cat Eye Vintage Shades available at ApparelCandy.com
So just to get you gals prepared for the amazing floral pieces Apparel Candy will be dropping oh-so-very soon- I put together a look that I think would work on any fashionista. This look is inspired by a spaghetti strap floral dress that was way too big for me at the time, that also had a serious tear at the seams, that my mom gave me. I totally sewed it all back up & wore it with a jean jacket over, with brown wedges similar to the Jeffrey Campbell’s pictured above. I picked the light necklaces just to layer over since the dress itself is loud all on its own. Pyramid earrings & vintage shades from apparelcandy.com fit simply & perfectly.
